Navillus Gallery is pleased to present FLUX, an exhibition featuring the work of Contemporary Canadian Artist Russna Kaur. Toronto – 9 July – 8 August 2015.
Through a variety of media, Toronto-based artist Russna Kaur bridges the gap between art and design, believing that one always inspires the other. She leans towards abstract representations with her painting, drawing, collages and design, leaving the interpretation of her work open to the viewer’s unique perspective at a specific moment in time.
Following in the traditions of Abstract Expressionist painter, Robert Rauschenburg, Kaur integrates everyday materials into her collage paintings. She uses twine, thumbtacks and tape to achieve a sense of depth, while playing with colour and geometric forms to anchor certain parts of the composition, while allowing other parts to continue the flow of the piece.
Kaur has exhibited throughout Canada and the US. Most recently, she participated in the SURTEX Art Fair in New York City.
