The Art From the Heart Exhibit is a juried show of 17 differently-abled artists’ work, challenged and inspired by life circumstances.
“Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live” – Neil Marcus-
Art from the Heart is a provocative exhibition by artists who have experienced adversity and challenge and have incorporated this into their artistic practice, inspiration and presentation. Its about art originating from inner spaces not experienced by most people and about the creativity that emerges from such spaces and experiences. This show focuses on different ways of seeing and experiencing the world, reflected in artwork. It is about sharing, awareness, artistic expression and courage. The reality of each life made visible is a powerful tool. The show will reach into the community in a unique and compelling way hosting a speaker series each Sunday for the duration of the show. Community leaders will speak to bring awareness about the lives and experiences of the artists and the organizations supporting the artists in our communities.
