The Peel Art Gallery, Museums & Archives, owned by the Region of Peel caters to artists in the cities of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon. The Peel Art Gallery is pleased to announce its official opening (after 2 years of renovations). The gallery is about 4000 square feet, three times of what it was prior to its renovations. The facility is beautiful, located right in the heart of Downtown Brampton (right off of Main Street), with a view of Brampton’s Gage Park right across the street. It holds immense art storage, with a large capacity of 25,000 square feet, encompassing over 5000 contemporary and historical art collections! It also has a revolutionary tunnel with bright glass windows that links both the Art Gallery and the Museum.
The grand opening of the museum section of the building will take place on November 24 and 25. The final phase of the complete opening of the building will take place on February 18, 2013 (Family Day). Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy all three phases of the opening of the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives. It will also be a great opportunity for like-minded artists to interact and network. Judy Daley, Supervisor/Curator Art Gallery & Education Services for PAMA explains how “the philosophy PAMA has moving forward is having a stronger presence in the community for Peel. Not just through exhibitions, but also through public programs at a special discounted rate.”
